Grant Mayo has been involved in the fitness and health industry since the early 90s when he first started training. In 1993, he joined his first bodybuilding competition and realised that he loved the whole process of training and dieting. He went on to win his first Mr Australia and then 1st place winning the Mr World in 97. In 2007, he realised that the supplement industry was missing something special. His vision was to create a supplement store catered to everyone and not only bodybuilders or athletes - the Nutrition Warehouse was born. In 2008, he opened his first store with that concept of delivering excellent customer service, warehouse prices and great product range. Today, Nutrition Warehouse is across every state and territory, with more than 90 stores nationwide.
Before Nutrition Warehouse started, Grant Mayo opened his first supplement store with a friend in 2002. Grant stayed with that business until 2007, when he realised he wanted to have a different approach and vision to the business his was in. He parted ways in 2007.
In April 2008, the first Nutrition Warehouse open its door in Underwood-Brisbane, Queensland. Grant was the salesperson, eCommerce manager, web packer, bookkeeper and everything else in between. First year of sales $750,000
Store number 3 is opened on the Gold Coast. The super store in Ashmore, where the space was 300 square metres. The Ashmore store transitioned to have the pick and packing and the head office.
First New South Wales store is open in Castle Hill. Nutrition Warehouse is voted Australia's Fastest Growing Business placing 9th at BRW Fast 100 - $10.42m
15 stores across 2 states. Moved to a bigger space to open the New Warehouse at Upper Coomera - 1400sqm. 8th Place at BRW Fast 100 - $16.9m
First Victorian and ACT stores opened. 21 stores across 3 states and a territory.
We started with humble beginnings and focused on growing a strong team, which can provide the right tool for great results to all Australians. Today Nutrition Warehouse has grown to 95+ stores nationwide and still counting. We have stores in each state and territory, plus our online store with more than 5000 products. We employ more than 460 team members who are immersed in health and fitness.
