Folic acid is important for the development of the baby’s nervous system and neural tube early in pregnancy. When you are pregnant, you need folic acid to help your baby grow healthily. If you are planning on getting pregnant, it’s important to add folic acid in your plan as it will help with the development of a healthy baby and it may potentially reduce the risk of having a child with birth defects.

It’s essential to increase your nutritional requirements when you are pregnant or to plan to get pregnant. This should include foods rich vitamins and minerals specially formulated for pregnancy to assist general wellbeing prior to conception, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Adults - Take 1 tablet daily, with food, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner. Start taking 3 months prior to planning a pregnancy.
